Wheelcrown Ltd in Seedcorn Regional Final - 9 November 2004

Wheelcrown Ltd has been selected as a regional finalist in the InterTradeIreland All-island Seedcorn Business Competition 2004. Wheelcrown Ltd faces competition from Glantreo Ltd and Pervenio Ltd in the Greater Cork Area Regional Final on Thursday, 25 November. The winner will compete with six other regional winners for the first prize of €100,000. You can learn more about the competition here.

Future design of Wheelcrown™ - 1 November 2004

The future design of Wheelcrown™ is already being worked on. The top surface will be flat, preventing any damage to the tabs; the mechanism will be fully enclosed, preventing any dirt ingress; and the product will be packaged as a single unit, to make fitting easier. The stampings will also be much simpler which should bring the costs down further.

Wheelcrown™ presentation to IRTE - 22 October 2004

Wheelcrown Ltd Managing Director Stephen Murphy last night gave a presentation to the IRTE Ireland Munster Centre at the Garda Social Club in Cork. The talk introduced those in attendance to Wheelcrown™ and it's benefits. The presentation was very well received and Stephen was pleased that the Institute welcomed Wheelcrown™ so warmly.

Patent Portfolio Consolidated - 20 September 2004

Wheelcrown Ltd has consolidated its patent portfolio for Wheelcrown™. The portfolio has now been re-focussed on the territories of highest strategic value. These are: The United States, The United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Sweden and Canada.

United States patent granted - 11 June 2004

The United States patent for Wheelcrown™ has been granted. This adds to the patents already granted for Wheelcrown™ in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Monaco, the Netherlands, Portugal, the Republic of Ireland, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom.

The grant of the Canadian patent (expected soon) will complete the intellectual property portfolio for Wheelcrown™.

European patents granted - 11 February 2004

All European patents for Wheelcrown™ have been granted. Wheelcrown™ now has granted patents in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Monaco, the Netherlands, Portugal, the Republic of Ireland, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom.

The United States is due to grant a patent on Wheelcrown™ soon and will be followed by Canada.

Wheelcrown™ in infoSTEEL - 29 January 2004

The latest issue of infoSTEEL from SSAB Swedish Steel Ltd features a write-up on Wheelcrown™. The article focuses on the use of DOCOL 1200 in the manufacture of Wheelcrown™.

This material was chosen as it can take the high contact-stresses and fatigue loading that Wheelcrown™ will be subjected to. DOCOL 1200 can also be stamped, allowing much lower manufacturing costs.

European grant date confirmed - 28 January 2004

The European Patent Office has confirmed the date of grant for all European patents for Wheelcrown™ will be 11 February 2004.

On that date Wheelcrown™ patents will be granted across Europe. These patents will soon be followed by a granted patent in the US, with Canada following.

Website redesign - 19 January 2004

Wheelcrown.com has been redesigned. The new design focuses on making it easier for visitors to find the information they want.

Commonly sought information has been put in the new sidebars, while a simpler menu system has been implemented.

U.S. patent approved - 16 January 2004

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office have issued a notice of Allowance for the patents on Wheelcrown™. The patent applications can now proceed to grant.
