European patents proceeding to grant - 23 December 2003

Wheelcrown Ltd has received confirmation from the European Patent Office (EPO) that the European patents for Wheelcrown™ are proceeding to grant.

Wheelcrown Ltd in Swedens famous Blue Hall - 27 November 2003

Stephen Murphy and Desmond Mulvany last night represented Wheelcrown Ltd at the Swedish Steel Prize Ceremony. 600 invited guests attended the banquet, held in the famous Blue Hall of Stockholm City Hall; the venue that annually plays host to the Nobel Prize Banquet.

Guests were treated to a spectacular evening of live music and fine food. The menu was originally served at the 1909 Nobel Prize Ceremony where Swedish writter, Selma Ottilia Lovisa Lagerlof, received the Nobel Prize in Literature.

This was the 5th annual Swedish Steel Prize, organised by Swedish Steel (SSAB) to recognise innovation in the use of high-strength steel. This year saw joint winners - Su-Dan Corporation (U.S.) and Superior Trailers (U.S.), congratulations to both!

Investment received - 3 October 2003

Wheelcrown Ltd today received its first round of investment. The investment brings the funds required to progress the Wheelcrown™ patents and carry out further market research.

The investment also brings two additions to the board in Desmond Mulvany and Arthur Magan. Both Desmond and Arthur are experienced entrepreneurs who bring a wealth of knowledge to the board.

Wheelcrown Ltd officially licences Wheelcrown™ technology - 29 September 2003

Wheelcrown Ltd signed an exclusive licence for the Wheelcrown™ technology today. Wheelcrown Ltd now has the sole rights to make, use and sell Wheelcrown™. This move now clears the way for Wheelcrown Ltd to receive inward investments.

Wheelcrown Ltd formed - 15 August 2003

Wheelcrown Ltd was today incorporated. The company will be a patent holding company and use inward investments to fund the development of Wheelcrown™.

Swedish Steel (SSAB) visit Ireland to see Wheelcrown™ - 7 July 2003

A delegation from Swedish Steel (SSAB) today visited Levitat to view the latest prototype of Wheelcrown™. The prototype was only made possible by the use of SSAB's DOCOL 1200 material.

The delegation, from both Sweden and the UK, were impressed by the simplicity of the idea and the huge potential of Wheelcrown™ to impact on safety in the haulage industry worldwide. SSAB have offered to help in the development of Wheelcrown™.

New prototype of Wheelcrown™ - 1 July 2003

The latest prototype of Wheelcrown™ was today received, complete with a demonstration rig, allowing Wheelcrown™ to be shown tensioning an M22 stud.

Thanks to Swedish Steel's new material, DOCOL 1200, the new prototype is 57% smaller, 61% lighter and is subjected to 21% lower stress than its predecessor. The height of Wheelcrown™ has been reduced to just 17mm and it now weighs less than 93g.

European Patent to be granted - 10 March 2003

The Examining Division of the European Patent Office has confirmed its intention to grant a European Patent for Wheelcrown™.

The application has gone through unchanged after an earlier ruling by the examiner which found that all the claims were novel, inventive and have industrial applicability.
