The article, 'Cam studs prevent flying wheels', says that Wheelcrown™ could solve the problem of Flying Truck Wheels "which has plagued the industry for years."

'Eureka' magazine, which focusses on innovative engineering design, has featured Wheelcrown™ in its 'It's so simple' section. The article is titled 'Cams prevent flying tyres' and focusses on the safety benefits Wheelcrown™ provides.

New Wheelcrown™ design - 25 September 2001

A redesign of Wheelcrown™ has been achieved that significantly improves the product. The design is now 57% smaller, 61% lighter and is subjected to 21% lower stress! On top of that the new design is much simpler to manufacture and produce, bringing manufacturing costs down 90%!

"This design is a significant step forward," Stephen said, "we have surpassed all the targets we had set following our market research."

The height of Wheelcrown™ has been reduced to just 17mm and it now weighs just 92.6g!

National filings of Wheelcrown™ patent - 24 September 2001

The Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) application for Wheelcrown™ has reached the National Filing stage. Levitat has opted to file patents in the United States of America, Canada and throughout Western Europe.

These filings mean that Wheelcrown™ is protected across two thirds of the worlds on-highway commercial vehicle market.

The latest issue of 'Commercial Motor' magazine features an article on Wheelcrown™. The article, titled 'Cam system said to stop wheel loss', high-lights the safety benefits of fitting Wheelcrown™ and points out that Wheelcrown™ can pay for itself through savings in maintenance time.

Article: "Levitat on the road to success" - 26 June 2001

Levitat was today featured in the business section of the Cork Evening Echo. Brian Winders' article reported on the success of the Enterprise Ireland led trade mission to Detroit.

"For us, as a young company, to have the support and expertise of Enterprise Ireland behind us is a great help," Stephen said.

"This was a marvellous opportunity for Levitat to meet key players in the US automotive industry and secure the partnership it seeks," said Brian Quinlan, South West Regional Director of Enterprise Ireland.

Levitat takes part in trade-mission to Detroit, Michigan - 7 May 2001

Levitat's founderor, Stephen Murphy, has just returned from Detroit, Michigan where he spent last week discussing Wheelcrown™ with many of the leading players in the Automotive Industry. Stephen was representing Levitat on an Enterprise Ireland led trade mission to America's legendary 'Motor City'. Levitat was one of 8 Irish companies looking to develop trade links between Ireland and the US.

"It was a very valuable week, we met people from every sector of the industry and the feedback received was very positive. We will be hoping to follow up a number of avenues that were opened in Detroit", said Stephen.

The trade mission was organised by Enterprise Ireland's offices in Dublin and New York.

Minister of Finance presents Levitat with National Enterprise Award - 5 March 2001

Levitat has been awarded second prize in the Coca-Cola National Enterprise Awards that were presented at the Conrad International Hotel, Dublin.

Irish Minister for Finance, Mr Charlie McCreevy T.D., presented the trophy and £5,000 to Stephen Murphy in front of a small number of dignitaries. The ceremony was scaled back in response to the national Foot and Mouth crisis.

First prize went to Soma Healthcare, a Dublin-based company who produce a non-invasive, drug-free pain-relief system.

Third prize was shared by PulseLearning, an e-learning content development company, and OWJO Technologies, a software developer of wireless Internet messaging systems.

National Enterprise Awards date set - 24 February 2001

Irish Minister for Finance, Mr Charlie McCreevy T.D., will present the Coca-Cola National Enterprise Awards on March 5th. The ceremony will take place in the Conrad International Hotel, Dublin.
